Recap: BC 16, Syracuse 7

With Montel Harris out for the season, many fans (like me)worried about BC's offense without the star tailback. Well, worry no longer.

True freshman Andre Williams stepped up in a big, big way. On 42 carries, Williams rushed for 185 yards. He also had a one-yard touchdown run to cap off the first offensive drive in which he ran for 42 yards. Williams may have just offered a glimpse into the future for BC fans.

Kicker Nate Freese connected on two field goals (27,29) in the first half, and the Eagles entered the locker room up 6-0. However, Syracuse came out fast in the second half. The Orange received the kickoff, and, led by Antwon Bailey and Ryan Nassib, drove 80 yards down the field, ending in a 5 yard TD run by Bailey.

But then BC answered, with a 78 yard drive that set up Williams' touchdown run. That's when the stout BC defense took over, only allowing 42 total yards the rest of the game. Mark Herzlich sealed the deal with his interception with just a minute and a half to go.

Chase Rettig finished the game 11/19 for 110 yards and one interception.

The win gave the Eagles their fifth straight win to close out the season. It also guarantees another winning season for the 12th straight year, a school record.
