For the first time since the days of the Big East, the Eagles will travel to Syracuse to take on the Orange in the regular season finale. As you probably know, Montel Harris will not play, which means freshman Andre Williams will get the start at running back.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR: Andre Williams' Carries
Montel, obviously, is one of the best backs in the country, and one of the reasons is that he gets stronger as the game goes on. This allows Tranq to keep feeding it to him. Williams, however, is a different back. He's a bigger guy who has yet to carry the load by himself. I hope to see Andre get about 18-20 carries, with McCluskey getting a few as well.
DIFFERENCE MAKER: Chase Rettig
Chase has gotten better and better each week and looks like a great QB in the making. However, he also has had a great run game with a great running back behind him. With all respect to Andre, he is not Montel and the run game will not be as effective today. This is where the game falls on Rettig's shoulders. If he can pick up key third downs, we will win this game.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT: 'Cuse at the Dome
Although Syracuse is bowl eligible for the first time in a while, the Orange have struggled at home. They are just 2-3, with their two wins coming against Maine and Colgate.
PREDICTION: BC-24 Syracuse-14
I think Syracuse is a program on the rise, but I believe the Eagles solid defense forces some turnovers and the offense capitalizes and the Eagles walk away with their 7th win. Go BC!
